Skills, Training & Qualifications

If you need to gain qualifications while volunteering to help you gain paid employment, we offer a variety of accredited courses and training opportunities.

Our training courses range from accredited online courses in safe working and customer service, to on-site qualifications in warehousing and storage. On completing your time with us you’ll have both qualifications and a work reference under your belt, as well as a wealth of experience!

To discuss the training opportunities we currently have available, contact Liz at liz@emergemanchester.co.uk or call 0161 223 8200 Option 6.

Give & Gain Programme

Our free work skills ‘Give & Gain’ programme allows you to give your time as a volunteer with FareShare Greater Manchester to gain a NOCN Level 2 certificate in Warehousing and Storage. This programme runs 2 days a week for 8 weeks and will take you a step closer to your next career in warehousing and logistics.

The training is varied – you’ll be learning about the receiving, storing and dispatching of food, whilst becoming skilled in using equipment for moving goods and having a genuine regard for health and safety.

If you’re more suited to practical work and don’t mind the outdoors then this would be an ideal choice for you. The skills you learn play a critical role in logistics operations and could lead you to all sorts of opportunities within the warehousing and logistics industry.
